Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Rastemex Group LLC (“Rastemex,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), located at 2108 N St, Ste N, Sacramento, CA 95816, USA, collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit rastemex.com (the “Site”) or interact with us in connection with our global sourcing and trading services for industrial and petrochemical equipment. By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Site.
Information We Collect
We collect information in three principal ways.
Information you provide directly. When you submit our Request-a-Quote form, we collect the information you enter, which typically includes your name, company name, business email address, country, and the details of the products you are inquiring about (for example, valve types, pipe specifications, fittings, instrumentation, pump models, quantities, and delivery requirements). If you contact us by email at info@rastemex.com, we collect the information contained in your message, including any attachments.
Information collected automatically. Our servers automatically record certain technical information when you visit the Site, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, and the referring website. This server log data helps us maintain the security and performance of the Site.
Cookies and analytics. We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use our pages. We may use third-party analytics services that collect information about your use of the Site through their own cookies and identifiers. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect some Site functionality.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as government identifiers, health information, or precise geolocation) through the Site, and we ask that you not include such information in quote requests or correspondence.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following business purposes:
- To respond to your Request-a-Quote submissions, prepare quotations, and communicate with you about your inquiries;
- To source products from manufacturers and suppliers and arrange logistics for orders you place;
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
- To analyze Site usage so we can improve our content and services;
- To comply with legal obligations, including export-control, sanctions, customs, tax, and record-keeping requirements applicable to international trade;
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents; and
- To establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How We Share Information
We share personal information only as necessary to run our business and serve you:
- Suppliers and manufacturers. We share relevant details from your quote request (such as your company name, country, and product requirements) with suppliers and manufacturers only as needed to prepare quotations and fulfill orders.
- Logistics and shipping partners. We share names, delivery addresses, and contact details with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers only as needed to arrange and complete shipments.
- Service providers. We use third-party providers for website hosting, email, and analytics, who process information on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
- Legal and compliance. We may disclose information when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Rastemex, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers. If Rastemex is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Quote requests and related correspondence are generally retained for the duration of our business relationship and for a period afterward consistent with commercial record-keeping practices and applicable legal requirements, including trade-compliance and tax rules. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and diagnostic purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for the Site and limiting access to personnel who need it to perform their duties. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.
International Data Transfers
Rastemex is based in the United States, and the Site is hosted and administered from the United States. If you access the Site or submit information from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. In connection with sourcing and fulfillment, information may also be shared with suppliers and logistics partners in other countries as described above. Where required by applicable law, we take steps designed to ensure that such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards.
Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the “CCPA”), may give you the following rights with respect to personal information, subject to certain exceptions and verification requirements:
- Right to know/access. You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we have disclosed it.
- Right to delete. You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, information we must retain for legal compliance or to complete a transaction you requested).
- Right to correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. You may direct businesses that sell or share personal information to stop doing so. Rastemex does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined by the CPRA, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger this right.
- Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise these rights, contact us at info@rastemex.com or through the Request-a-Quote form on the Site with the subject line “California Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity by matching the information you provide with information we already hold, and we will respond within the timeframes required by law (generally 45 days, extendable once by an additional 45 days with notice). You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf; we may require proof of the agent’s authority and verification of your identity.
Rights for International Visitors
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with comprehensive data-protection laws such as the GDPR, you may have similar rights, including the rights to access, rectify, erase, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to data portability, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We process your personal data to perform or prepare a contract with you (responding to quote requests and fulfilling orders), to comply with legal obligations, or in pursuit of our legitimate business interests. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
Children’s Privacy
The Site is a business-to-business platform and is not directed to anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
